A Strong Start Begins With Trusted Relationships

Toddlers, 12 months to three: a steady routine and caring teachers, so your child feels secure enough to explore.

Our Butterflies and Dinosaurs classrooms are designed for children from 12 months to three years. Care from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. is part of the toddler program.

A routine your child can count on

Toddlers do their best learning when they know what comes next. Each day follows the same familiar rhythm of play, songs, stories and rest, so children feel safe, say goodbye at drop-off more easily and settle into the group. Teachers get to know each child’s cues, interests and rhythms, and children learn that their feelings are noticed and cared for.

Language all day long

Toddlers are learning words at a remarkable pace, and our teachers make the most of it. Songs, stories and conversation fill the day. Children practice introducing themselves and learning their friends’ names, and teachers ask questions during play that stretch vocabulary and early counting.

Curiosity leads the way

Teachers watch where each child’s attention goes and build on it, turning a toddler’s interest into new words, new ideas and new skills. Children are given room to try things on their own and learn from their mistakes, and families are often amazed at what their child learns to do.

The first few weeks

We take the first weeks at your child’s pace. Each morning, your child’s teacher welcomes them into the classroom and helps them say goodbye, and the same routine follows every day. You are welcome to come in, see the classroom and get to know the teachers who will care for your child. As your child settles, teachers add new activities one at a time.
